The series derives its title from the name of the two main characters, both of whom are called Nana. Nana Komatsu is a small town girl who goes to Tokyo to follow her boyfriend and college friends, with the hope of having her dream life. Nana Osaki was in a popular punk band in her home town. She goes to Tokyo with the goal of making it big as a singer. The two Nanas meet on the train ride to the city. Later, they run into each other again when they happen to check out the same apartment, and the girls decide to become roommates. The series chronicles their friendship and their lives as each chases her dreams. source: Nana Wiki

Room 707 has a major significance in the series too.

I've known about Nana since it is a pretty well known series and I have seen many Nana and Reira cosplays. Not much Hachiko, or anyone else but the composition of said photos always made me think of Nana as a very nice series but I never got around to watching it.

It made me hesitant to watch the anime as I felt 47 episodes was too long... But when I started, there was actually no stopping. I wanted to skip work and sleep just to watch because every episode is so gripping!
It felt like I was watching a prime time drama thing, sure is better than any soap opera I've seen locally.
I didn't even notice when I was at the final episode! I was so surprised! So many questions left in my mind that I frantically turned to the manga!

Nana is about friendship, pride and love. What's great about the series is it shows multiple angles of the friendship, love and relationships of the characters and how it affects and connects their lives with each other and with others. It isn't just drama, sex or problems, there are moments of comic relief, too.

I honestly do not know who is my favorite character or pairing is because everyone is so interesting. Yasu, Nobu, Shin, Reira, Shion, Reira, Takumi and Ren! gaaaaaa!!!
The characters are so dreamy but they are also flawed which really shows human nature well.

I love Nana because the series made me think of my own relationships. I think of Nana and Hachiko as representations of me, I can be stubborn and full of pride but at the same time I can be needy and weepy, too.

Following Nana, made me think of my close friend, Ricah. I would seriously cry tears of happiness if we can do a Nana cosplay as I feel we are both like Nana and Hachiko hahahah
Though I do not know who should be who as we both share traits Nana and Hachiko have. I hope she will grant me this request.

Nana and Hachiko

Great, too that the characters are drawn nicely and have great fashion sense!
Nana is brought to us by the same person who gave us Paradise Kiss!

Should you watch it?
Yes! I know you love your friends but this series will make you appreciate all the bonds that you share and hopefully inspire you put an effort in making them stronger.

I was going to just post Nana in my Read/Watch album in my fan page but I really think that a write up is in order as Nana is a must watch and read! The anime is not enough!

To conclude:
Nana
Plot: 5 out of 5
Art: 5 out of 5
Lesson: 5 out of 5
Overall the series gets 5 out of a 5 from me!

Once you are done with the anime, immediately proceed to the manga!
You can pick up at chapter 43!
It is sad that the last update was way back 2009 but the series is really worth following!

I think I'll go watch Nana the Movie and it's sequel, too.
Sorry, guys, gotta go!
Enjoy Nana!
